On Monday 3 July 2023, SMA held a special online event on syndesmosis injury management with Dr Steven Kent, an orthopaedic surgeon operating in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, and Phil Bosson, APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist.
Steven and Phil presented the latest evidence and surgical techniques for managing syndesmosis injuries including imaging and clinical findings, positives and negatives of different surgical styles for athletes, acute phase management, on-field assessment, rehabilitation phases, and return to play strategies.
