On Wednesday 12 June 2024, Dr Carlee Van Dyk took attendees through a series of real life, challenging diagnostic cases that have presented in her rooms, including two cases involving leg pain with a medical, not musculoskeletal cause.
Attendees also learned how and when to refer on if the clinical picture doesn't add up, and other history and examination features that help to differentiate the conditions masquerading as musculoskeletal problems. Carlee helped hone skills in identifying and reviewing bone physiology and factors that contribute to poor bone health or metabolic bone disease.
The event was facilitated by specialist sports and exercise physiotherapist and Chair, SMA Board of Directors, Dr Kay Copeland.
